who we are and what we do
We are professionally qualified 'Relate Counsellors', experienced in working with both individuals and couples and specialising in relationship issues. Becoming a 'Relate Counsellor' requires two years formal training at the national Relate Institute, followed by 500 hours of supervised counselling. We've been practising as Relate Counsellors since 2009.
We are members of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and we adhere to their Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines. We undertake regular supervision and CPD training and work to recognised standards. We are also listed in the UK Counselling Directory and in the BACP’s It’s good to talk directory of UK counsellors.
(BACP accreditation is recognised UK-wide by the Professional Standards Authority and is the equivalent to COSCA accreditation in Scotland. Relationships Scotland was setup as a sister company to Relate in 2006).
Certain counselling styles suit some people more than others and we draw from a range of approaches to provide the right support for you. The section below explains who we are, what do, how we can help and how to get in touch - we look forward to speaking with you.

about Nairn Counselling
‘Nairn Counselling' is the ‘site title’ / ‘search display name’ for the website 'www.nairncounselling.co.uk' and is not a company name. We are independent counsellors who share a website, a telephone number and an office space. We each work on a self-employed basis and your payment will be always be made directly to your specific counsellor. We each have our own professional liability insurance and the ‘client-confidentiality agreement’ and ‘client contract’ is made between you and your specific counsellor.
